Campus Snakes, Mulshi-Pune
The following are some of the photos of both venomous as well as non-venomous snakes photographed by me on our campus from September 2006 onwards.
So far I have recorded 5 venomous snakes - Cobra and Russel's Viper, Saw-Scaled Viper, Common Krait and very rarely the Green Pit Viper.
I have also have many kinds of non-venomous snakes such as Common Sand Boa, Common Vine Snake, Striped Keelback, Banded Racer, Green Keelback , Common Indian Cat Snake, Copper headed Trinket snake, Common Bronzeback tree snake, Indian Trinket Snake, Common Wolf snake, Banded Kukri, Russel's Kukri, Indian Rat snake, Checkered Keel Back
and we have also spotted an Indian Rock Python on very rare occasions. The photo album does not contain all the photos mentioned above, but I will keep posting as and when we are able to get them posing in front of us.
The school has a policy wherein we do not kill any of the snakes that enter our living premises by chance, me along with the Guard force are involved in capturing these gentle creatures and relocating them around the beautiful sahayadri hills around Campus.
Thanks
Sindhu
